How to convert files to MP3
- Add files. Drop in one or many audio or video files. Each file appears in the list.
- Choose the quality. 192 kbps is recommended for music, 320 kbps is the best MP3 quality, and 96–128 kbps is fine for speech.
- Convert. Press Convert to MP3. Each file shows its progress and, when it's done, its new size.
- Download. Save each MP3 individually, or use Download all to get a ZIP file.
Supported formats
The converter can open anything your browser can decode. In current versions of Chrome, Edge and Firefox, that includes:
- Audio: WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG (Vorbis), OPUS, WebM, AIFF and MP3
- Video: MP4, MOV and WebM. The audio track is extracted and the video is discarded.
Safari supports most of these, with more limited OGG and OPUS support on older versions. If a file won't open, try a different browser. Protected files, such as DRM-locked iTunes purchases, can't be converted.

Converting a low-bitrate file to a higher bitrate won't improve its quality. It only makes the file bigger. For speech, choosing Mono halves the data needed with no audible loss.
